Office XP Pro w/Publisher

T

Terry A.

My office computer came loaded with Office XP Pro
W/Publisher (2 Microsoft cd'd came with it--one Office XP
Pro and the other Publisher). An article in PC World
stated Microsoft allows you to put Office XP on two
computers but you can only put Windows XP one one
computer. The cd's are Microsoft cd's but state "For
distribution with a new PC only". Can I,and if so, how do
I, put Office XP Pro w/Publisher on my second computer
properly? I contacted the computer Manufacturer(Gateway)
and they didn't know beans about it. Your help is greatly
appreciated. Terry (714-730-1000--if you are local).

Hi Terry,

You have an OEM edition of MS Office XP.
OEM editions, sold with a PC, are licensed
only for that machine and cannot be loaded
on a 2nd machine or transferred to a new one.
The license agreement (EULA) is in the help
file in your Office apps.

Boxed retail copies can be installed on a desktop
and laptop of the same user.
