I have a problem with my installation of MS Office XP Pro on a brand new
computer :
When pressing the "Open"-button (to browse for documents), or when choosing
on the menu FILE -> OPEN the program stops responding.
The browsing-windows does not appear, and the application does not accept
input from mouse or keyboard.
I have to use taskmanager to end the application.
This happends for all my Office2002 applications only (word, excel, ppoint,
access), none of the other applications on the computer have the same
problem.
The installation is brand new, on a brand new Compaq computer. First I
thought it may be the location of the files that were wrong, but it's not.
The files is in the "My Documents"-folder on the C-drive.
Now, the only way to access a existing document is to use the explorer for
browsing, then double-clicking the actual file directly. Then it opens
correctly, and all other functions in the application seems to be working
just fine.
I have installed the servicepack 1 and 2 for Office XP, but it did not solve
the problem. I have also scanned for viruses. None.
Hopefully, someone has a clue. Please post on the group, preferably with a
mailed copy to (e-mail address removed)
Thank you!
