Office XP Problems

When I am using PowerPoint or Word, the program does
things by itself without anyone touching the
mouse/keyboard like add slides, change background, print,
and the menus pop down. Does anyone know what is causing
this and how to fix it?

I have antivirus software and it doesn't detect any
viruses.
