Office XP Profesional: 'files\microsoft.xls' could not be found

Thru one of your problem threads, I understand I may well have a registry
virus in my Microsoft software, Excel, Power Point, Access & MS Maps &
Streets. In Excel at start up I get 2 dialog boxes of "'files\
microsoft.xls' could not be found" and a 3rd box "office\office10\
excel.exe' could not be found". The other software exhibit similar
problems. All except Maps & Streets will open and run after closing dialog
boxes.

What software will clear the registry virus. I down loaded the latest
Norton Virus upgrade and scanned the hard drive. To no availe, I still got
my problem.

Can someone please help. Thank you
