Office XP Service Pack 1 Installation Unsuccessful

I recently had to reinstall XP Professional and Office XP
because my disc got corrupted. I installed all the
WindowsXP updates, but my Excel has been crashing
consitently every time I delete something or cut and
paste. I tried to install "Office XP Service Pack 1" and
keep getting "Installation Unsuccessful" although I
rebooted and went straight to the download page and I had
my OfficeXP CD in the drive. Any hints on the Excell
crashes or the OfficeXP install fail would be greatly
appreciated.
