Office XP shortcut bar suddenly disappeared

I've been using the XP shortcut bar with no problems for
years. Tonight when I started Windows, the shortcut bar
did not load. Going to Start, Microsoft Office Tools, and
clicking on the toolbar brought up a prompt asking if I
wanted it to always start when Windows started. I replied
Yes, and clicked OK, but the toolbar did not start. I
rebooted, still no toolbar. Re-clicking on the toolbar
icon on the Start menu does nothing. What does it take to
get the toolbar to work properly again?

Open any Office program and select Help->Detect and Repair.

BTW, you did not install any Office 2003 products did you? Doing so will
uninstall the toolbar.

No, no programs of any kind had been added. There were no
changes at all that I am aware of.

Thank you for the advice; I will try the "repair" utility
and see what happens.
