In MSWord and MSExcel (Office XP), when trying view/open
documents in a Folder that has more than 1000 word/excel
files in, it takes too long to display the files. For
example, if I load Excel or Word, then click on File >
Open, then browse to a File Server (Windows NT), double
click on the folder concernced, it may take upto 60
seconds to show the files on screen.
If however, I view the files via 'Windows Explorer', the
files show up ok after about 10 seconds, which is more
acceptable. Thats how I can conclude that MSOffice is
causing the 'Bottleneck'.
The PC concerned has XP Service Pack 1, all the latest
Security updates installed on it, and has Office XP
Service Pack 2 installed as well.
Anyone know how to speed up Office XP in this respect?
Kind Regards
