Office Xp Sp1

Hi there, I have a new copy of Office xp and as usual i
download the service packs. I have downloaded the the
upgrade but closes just as it's about to finish the
install.

The message says: error 1328. Error applying patch to
file c:\config.Msi\pt1dc.tmp. It has probably been
updated by other means, ans can no longer bw modified by
this patch. Foe more info contact your patch vendor

and i cant add service pack 2 until i have installed sp1
Can anyone offer any support

We are having a simailar issue. We have local servers
with replicated versions of office 2002 on them and have
had the same problems with the hotfix running throught
the company login script. we have discovered that the
installation files that the hotfix looks for are "out of
sync" with servers on other sites, and causing users on
our site not to be able to install the hotfix. Our
workaround is to temporarily map to another server and
run msiexec with a few switches from the command line,
then install the hotfix.

to install SP1:
