Hi,
I have been trying for the last three days to download the Office XP SP2
upgrade from the Office Upgrade site. I only have a 56K modem connection, so
I was prepared for it to take a long time. (It initially showed on the site
as being a 191 minutes download at best 56K speed.)
But the problem is that my connection keeps dropping out, (frustratingly, it
usually does this after about two thirds of the download is complete), and I
have to start afresh all over again.
I know that the drop-outs are not Microsoft's fault, and I can do nothing to
stop them, but it seems unfair to spend two hours downloading data for it
all to disappear into thin air.
Does anyone know of another way to download this service pack, so that one
can resume where one left off, so to speak. (A bit like the Windows Update
does.)
I got SP1 on a CD through the mail, but if there is a link on the Office
Update site to order a CD of SP2 I cannot spot it.
My computer has been online since 7am today, and as I write this it's 1.30pm
in the UK. I think I've been pretty patient, but I'm about to give up...
Cheers,
Robin
