office xp sp2 registration bug

Hi all-

Does anyone remember the bug in Office XP SP2 that caused registration
to break on some installs? We are having that issue and I cannot locate
the fix anywhere. We have some reason not to upgrade to SP3, so I
really need to eliminate this registration nag.

If anyone has the fix information or KB article, I would appreciate it...
