Office XP SP3 Client update requires original Office XP CD

B

Bill Nguyen

I downloaded both full and client version of Office XP SP3 and created a
link on our tranet to allow clietn upgrade. The problem is that the SP3
upgrade always asked for the original Office XP CD. When I ignored it, it
mention PROPLUS.MSI file of some sort.
Since we use OEM Office XP that came with Dell PC's, it's very inconvenient
to have users to keep their application CD. I need to work around this
problem so my users can perform the upgrade on their own.
Is there any way to setup SP3 upgrade without having to have teh original
CD?
Thanks
Bill

The proplus.msi file refers to a ubiquitously pirated version of Office XP
Professional with FrontPage. I suggest a network license audit of your
installed Office XP editions.
