Office XP SP3 fails to install

I'm having difficulty installing SP3. On running the update I get an error
message that extracting the file failed due to low memory or a corrupt
Cabinet file. I've tried the full file and client downloads with similar
results. I certainly don't have any shortage of space for the swap file and
I assume the download image on the server isn't corrupt so do you have any
ideas about what the problem could be.

Word 2002 is the only Office application I have - installed as part of
WorksSuite 2005. I'm running Windows XP Home Edition with SP2 installed.

Hi, billydancer,

Is your temp folder full of stuff? You might try cleaning it out and
re-running the update. Might not be a bad idea to to a scandisk and defrag
if you haven't done one recently.

Hi. My temp folder certainly isn't full - just a few MB of stuff. There's
66GB of free disk space so I don't think shortage of space is the problem.
Also this is a very recent installation so things haven't had a chance to get
fragmented yet, but I'll try what you suggested.

Just a thought - my PC has an Athlon 64 processor with DEP enabled. Have any
issues relating to updates been found or reported on this platform?
