Office XP SP3 repeated update notifications

Installed Office XP SP3 successfully. Apps working fine. Checked version
numbers and SP3 is correct, and yet Automatic Update keeps telling me I need
to download and install. Did so a couple of times. No problems. No errors.
But the notification is still there! Can't find anything addressing this
problem in the KB or in this topic. Anybody have a clue?

Further info: I looked for log files
OHotfix(#####).log
OHotfix(#####)_Msi.log
as suggested in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/884290/
but could not locate any such files.
Couldn't even find any directories remotely similar to
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Temp\OHotfix
Then realized that KB was for Office 2003, not XP.

Have an Office Updates folder in Program Files, with nothing newer than 2003.

Am on Win XP Pro SP2. Office is XP Pro w/FrontPage; also have SQL Server
2000 and IIS, .NET, and a few other related programs.
