Office XP Standard Edition

Mike

I currently have IE 6.0 sp1 running on an NT 4 sp6a
system. When I try to install office xp std. I get the
following error message. "Error 25202 cannont install
portions of the required system file update: Internet
Explorer 5. " It goes on to say I can try installing Ie5
from CD.

I tried running "setup.exe noie=true" command and I stil
get the same error message. How do I install Office XP
Std to a PC that already has IE 6.0 sp1 installed ?

Any and all help, will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Mike,

It appears that this is often due to disk space issues, not versions of IE.

See if this helps:

280661 - OFFXP: Insufficient Disk Space Error Message or Error 25202 When
You Install Office XP:

Make sure your temp folder is cleaned out, too--that can cause disk space
errors, even if you have plenty of space on your hard drive.

Removed all files and folders from temp folder and it
still does not work. Same error message. I hvave 940MB
free disk space.

Hm. Don't know; what I'd try is removing IE, installing Office XP, then
upgrading to IE 6 to see if that helps.

Are you doing the installation as the administrator? Are any operating
system files or folders read only?
