Office XP Std Spell Check

Using Office XP Std going to "Tools" "options" "Mail
format" if I choose "rich text" and don't choose word to
edit e-mail messages, the spell check errors out. It
happens on Every installation of Office XP Std we have.
Could someone test theirs and let me know if this is a
limit of Office XP STD. It works fine in Office XP Pro
