Office XP Student Version License

I just purchased two new PCs for my kids, but I only
bought one copy of Office XP. I had been told that it
could be installed on three machines for one license.

After opening the box, I could install it only once. Was
there an older version that allowed three copies? Is a
discount for the second license, or will I have to
purchase another copy at the student version price?

Thanks

You can get another office XP student version or you can buy the liscence for another computer. I am sure that one student version can be installed on two computers. therefore, if you get a liscence it is going to cost you around 25$ (for one computer.)

Office XP Student's and Teacher's Edition allows for only one installation.

You may have been thinking of Office 2003 STE which allows 3 installations.
