Office XP update problem

I have Office XP and I received a newsletter from MS today that included a
link to the Update site. So, I ran the Check for Updates routine and it
listed a number of them including Office XP Security Patch KB822036 and Word
2002 Security Patch KB830346.

Now, unless these are new, I would think I would have updated already as I
try to stay updated. However, no matter if I select all recommended
updates, or just one, the installation fails but gives no reason. I get to
Step 5 of 5 and it says check below for the status, and there it just says
that they all failed to install - no reason.

I thought maybe the server was just busy but I have tried repeatedly but
with no luck.

Any tips?
