Office XP update problems

The post by Ann on Dec 08 identifies fixes for Windows
update as I have previously used it to fix a problem with
windows update errors.
There seems a few of us are having a common problem with
Office XP (unable to update) that may be due to problems
with the msp files. Has anyone a fix or work around.
