office XP update - wants product key

Went to Office Update site. Downloaded and installed Office XP updates (SP3
and any after that). Office works fine except Word. Word wants product key.
Used product code from Outlook. Product key says key invalid.
I entered the product key from the CD. Product key says key invalid.
How do i get around this. when i updated office there was no indication or
request that there is a new product key. The version is OfficeXP Pro plus
Front Page. Tried key from OfficeXP Pro plus Front Page and also from Office
XP Pro. Still get
Product key says key invalid. Strangely, the other programs work fine and
recognize the initial product key (yielding a correct Product Identification
(PID) Number).

Could you have conflicting versions that were both installed (you mention
both Pro plus FrontPage and Pro might be installed))? If so, the above
