Office XP Updates

Hi. I've been checking on a regular basis for Windows XP and Office XP
updates and have downloaded and installed all critical updates and many of
the others as they come up.

Recently, when checking for Office XP updates I downloaded and installed the
remaining XP updates [including the latest service pack] but then after
checking my system it was telling me that I needed to install a bunch of
updates for Office 2000!! Those updates that had dates on them were all
dated at least a year before Office XP was even released! Not sure what the
deal is but I'm very reluctant to be installing old Office 2000 updates over
all of my Office XP updates.

Are there any insights anyone could offer? Is this just a screw-up of
somesort?

Do you have any of the Office 2000 family of applications - such as
Publisher 2000, Front Page 2000, etc. - installed? If so, then you are
being offered updates for those applications. If you run the update, only
the portion needed will be downloaded and installed.
