Office XP upgrade

I own Office version 7.0. First question....what is
Office 7.0? Is it the version pror ot Office 97 or is
what?

If it is, I suspect I cannot use it as the seed to upgrade
to Office XP, can I?

Office 7.0 was also known as Office 95 and it is the version that came out
before Office 97.
