Office XP Word 2002 and Publisher 2002

Insufficient windows memory message appears when trying to
modifiy text in Publisher 2002 with the help of Word 2002.
Everything or almost has been done to correct the problem
but to no avail. Knowledgeable person told me it was not,
with my computer set up a memory problem... despite the
message.
What could it be ? All patches have also been applied.
Please HELP !!!
