Office XP & Works

I have Office XP & Works on my PC, I want to uinstall Works and use Office. However, when I uninstall Works I cannot open some files I receive! When I reinstalled Works the problem went away.
Everytime I print a window tells me I do not have enough room on my hard drive.
What do I need to do to remove Works, use Office and have access to all files?

Hi, MalcolmW. Try turning off print spooling in Windows (click on Start | Control Panel | Printers | right-click once on your printer | Properties. Somewhere in here (sometimes on a Details or Advanced tab), you can choose to turn off print spooling and/or advanced text services and/or turn on print directly to printer. Also turn off background printing in Word (click on Tools | Options | Print | uncheck the "Background printing" box).
