Office Xp

I have a workstation running windows 2000 pro logging into
Netware 5.1 using the Netware clinet 4.9 SP1.
When opening an excel spreadsheet that links to several
others it takes about 4 min to open . When doing this from
a Win 98 machine it only takes about 1 min. Any help out
there?
