Office xp

I have been using Office 4.3 for a number of years
without any problems and it had done everything that I
needed (word processing and spreadsheet). However, I have
not been able to open email attachments in newer versions
of word. I purchased an upgrade of office xp and the
seller (staples) told me that my initial 4.3 did qualify
for the upgrade. The box doesn't indicate that 97 is the
the required upgrade as I find on the ms web cite.

What do I do now. Staples isn't interested in taking back
the open package.

I'd continue to press my case at Staples, maybe even contact their corporate
headquarters.

If all else fails, you can auction off the upgrade on eBay and write off the
difference as a loss.

Hi Alan,

Microsoft Office has a 30 day money back guarantee
on retail editions.
