Word and Excel stop responding when clicking on the down arrow to search/open
a file.

Do you have mapped network drives that are not available? What happens if
you reconnect before searching?

Yes. I have a connection to another computer that gives access to another
drive that is obviously not availble when not connected. I have tried the
drop down arrow when connected and excel/office does not seem to hang. Thanks.
