When double clicking on a Word document on the desktop,
Word will open up, but the document does not open. If you
shift/left mouse click and select to open as a Word
document then it will open the document - also if you use
File/Open from within Word itself it will open the
document. This problem recently happend - is there a
solution?

Hi Pat.

It sounds like the file association needs to be recreated. Go to
Start/Run and run:

winword /r

Note the space before the forward slash.
