Office1.cab file corrupt on Disc

I have a Microsoft Office XP Professional Disc with a
corrupted file (due to scratches I believe) named
Office1.cab. Is there anyway to recover this file or
obtain a new disc of the same software from Microsoft
without charge? I don't want to spend money for something
I have already got. Thank you.

There are a lot of troubleshooting steps to fix this
problem such as cleaning the CD, slowing down the CD-ROM
drive, making a copy, lowering the memory seting in
windows etc. This sound like a typical CD-ROM reading
error message.
I would recommend to try installing office from a
secondary CD-rom drive if the same error happens then
make a copy of the Office CD to a folder on the Hard
drive then run setup from the folder.
The CD-ROM is either having trouble reading or extracting
the files correctly. Test other CDs from your drive. If
the problem happens with other software then the drive
may need diagnostics performed by the computer repair
shop to check for problems. If not then the drive may
not be reading the compressed format of this cd very
well.

The following articles discuss how to make a copy of the
CD to a folder on the hard drive.
