Office2000 with Software distribution

Martje

At our office we want to distribute office2000 with the
latest service pack and internet explorer 6 sp1.

I've tried to make an administrative installation point
and then assign the msi packages as a computer policy, but
the clients do not install the package. The second option
I tried, was copying the origininal cd's to a reachable
directory and then assign the msi packages as a computer
policy.

Does anyone have a step-by-step manual how to make
office2000 with the latest service packs available as an
assigned package using software installation of
windows2000 server ?

Hi Martje,

Internet Explorer 6 isn't supported as part
of Office 2000 distribution directly, it uses
the IE Administration Kit.

But now I have trouble creating the administrative
installation point. I'm getting pretty frustrated. \the
assigned office cd1 and cd2 packages will not install.

Hi Martje,

What problem are you having and what steps
are you following?

If you're using an OEM copy of Office 2000
you won't be able to create an Office Admin point.
That required retail or volume license media/keys.
