I recently updated a clients networked PC with the latest Office 2000 sp3.
After the install several users were complaining about problems within
Access. The frontend application has been running successfully for several
years UNTIL the sp3 update. At first I took a long look at Access and did
what I could to isolate any trouble there. I could find none.
Meanwhile, other users are starting to complain about Excel locking up just
like the Access application. They open a file, begin to update it and then
the system just freezes. It is not consistent and can happen anytime.
These PC's are all running W2000 with Office 2000sp3. There is only 10
networked PC's and have had no trouble accessing files on the server until
sp3 was installed.
Can anyone shed some light on this problem? Is there any aspect of sp3 that
could influence networking problems and how can I work around this.
The 'natives' are getting restless and I need advice fast!!!
