[office2003 problem] Inability to open power point file

G

Guest

I just have installed office 2003 and find that it can't open some of the
power point files which could be opened in office XP.

Is there any means to fix this?

Thanks

Are you encountering an error message? If so what is it? How are you
trying to open the file? Are you using File/Open? Double-clicking the
file from an Exploring Window?

Do you use Norton AV? If so then you could be encountering a conflict
in Norton. Go to Norton Options, select the Miscellaneous section, and
turn off the "Office Plug-in" option.

I just double-click the file.
The error message is just very simple as:
"it can't open XXX"

Currently, I just run the office 2003 at windows 2003 server with Norton
AntiVirus Corporation 8 installed. It doesn't have the such function like
"office plugin".

More to point out, I can open some power point file but just encounterer
that can't open a particular power point file which could be opened normally
using office XP.

Thanks
