office2003 with Vista

I'm having a problem with Office 2003 on Vista in that I have set up the
email account according to the directions on both my provider (Sympatico) and
Microsoft. it will work fine for a few days then I cannot seem to send
messages. I get the following message:
Task 'pophm.sympatico.ca - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC7D) : 'Your
outgoing (SMTP) server does not support SSL-secured connections. If
SSL-secured connections have worked in the past, contact your server
administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

My ISP tells me to remove and reinstall the email account, which I have done
repeatedly. sometimes this works sometimes not. Then it'll work for a
couple of days and the cycle repeats.
Often, the Outlook will report an error and restart.
I'm getting quite tired of this! I have all the latest updates available...
Any help would be great.
Thanks

A couple of things;
Within OL under options ensure your polling interval is not less than 10
minutes

Any particular error on start up?
If you have an anti virus plugin configure with OL, disable the plugin,
though you may have to uninstall any AV app, before reinstalling without
enabling outlook intergration
(AV plugin can also be the cause of the 1st prob)

Thanks for the response. However, i have tried with the
AV removed, reinstalled etc. to no avail!
I'm becoming more and more suspicious of the ISP!
After I submitted the post, I was able to function fine again after a day...
now I await the next server failure!!!
