office97 sr1 patch

Hi, I recently downloade patch sr1 over my office 97 (windows98SE) set up. It
now causes an error when I try to run WORD97 namely "wrong version of
wwintl32.dll is loaded" The workaround given by MS requiers me to uninstall
and reinstall WORD from CD, but I have an OEM version with everything bundled
on my D drive where the oem left it. MS say they cant (wont) help.
I guess I need to recover the relevant version of the dll. Maybe someone has
a copy they can mail me? Or some ideas not involving CDs which will fix the
problem.

Hi Ozzie,

The OEM was supposed to also provide you with a CD
of Office 97. They may have made a copy of the
CD on your hard drive. If so you may be able to
install from that image.

The 'wrong edition' message for that particular
update can be using an International English vs
U.S. English copy of Office 97 or of the update.
(i.e. the English versions and patches 'don't match')

Thanx Bob, I found a CD which the OEM must have given me but I didn't realise
I had, So I was able to recover the correct version of the wwintl32.dll Now
Word runs, but it generates a different error, namely that it has an
incorrect version of vba32.dll which I cant find on the cd at all.
More investigation needed
