Office97 Std - Office97 Pro

Dru

Hi there,

I have installed Office97 onto about 20 desktops using the OfficePro97 CD
(de-selecting Access while installing) which was a genuine mistake, my
problem if I'm not sure which 20 of the 90 PC's have which install.

Is there an easy way to identify these installs (like a .exe file version or
DLL) ?

Thanks in advance.

Drew.

Dru:

With Office 97, there's a couple of ways to tell.

1.) Look in the path to Office e.g. c:\program files\micorsoft office\office

and in the sub directory \set up if there's the file Off97Pro.STF then its
likely a professional installation; if its got Off97std.STF then its
standard.

if its got both files then look at the set up short cut in c:\program
files\micorsoft office\ and the command line to see which was the last
install because the setup short cut will contain the last .STF file that was
used.

2.) You can also look in the registry under:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MS Setup (ACME)\table files to see what was
installed.
