office97 working in XP

I'm about to upgrade to a new system running WinXp,(from
98) I wonder if my copy of MS Office97 (Designed for
WindowsNT* Windows95)will operate correctly?
I carn't afford to pull out for an upgrade of Office.

Office 97 runs just fine under Windows XP. Windows 2000 and Windows XP
are members of the Windows NT family, but aren't listed on the Office 97
box because neither had been invented yet when Office 97 came out.

Will work perfectly on Windows XP, however, if you are upgrading on a system
that has Office 97 already on, I think you may have to reinstall it after
upgrading. Check Microsoft's Support (http://support.microsoft.com) for
details.
