I have OfficeX and have a problem in Excel. The Formatting Pallette has
started disappearing below the bottom of the screen. It is completely
unclickable below the bottom right part of the screen. This occurrs on
all spreadsheets and started after doing a back up with Carbon Copy
Cloner. I have had Excel windows shoot up under the menu bar and this
is fixable by going to the menu bar and selecting to show one of the
tool bars and this pushes the window down to where the window is
grabbable again. I have had this problem in OS9 and the then I was able
to solve the problem by changing the screen resolution, unfortunately I
am on an ibook which is working at its maximum size, any suggestions
welcome.

Try trashing the "~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Excel Toolbars (10)"
preferences file. That should bring things back to the default settings.

In addition to Bernard's excellent suggestion, you might take a look
