OfficeXP closes on open or save

After installing windows updates and office service pack
3 update, many of our Win2k systems with Office XP do not
work correctly. Some users will pull up office but
cannot open or save a document - the office app will just
close, with no error messages. This will work in any MS
Office application, Word, Excel, Publisher, etc. Running
virus scan with updated .dat files shows no virus and
I've checked over Microsoft's KB and haven't found
anything like this at all.

Any thoughts?

There was a bug like this for office 2000. It was a designed bug, to stop
people with illigal cd-keys. You will have to contact microsft about it,
assuming that you have a legal copy of office xp.
