OfficeXpSp3-kb832671-fullfile-enu.exe requires XP Professional dis

I downloaded the 58Mb Office SP3 file since my XP Professional OS was
preinstalled and I have no access to the original disk.
When trying to install the update, it still does ask for the XP disk...
Anyone has a suggestion?

Your best bet may be to contact the computer manufacturer to get you access
to the source installation. They are responsible for supporting the copies
they install.

Somehow I did acquire the proper disk and installed SP3 but... why does MS
tell us that if one does not have access to the original disk, one should
download the 58Mb file? Kind of confusing?

In most cases, it works fine. There are some where it doesn't (obviously,
