Hi,

This morning I tried to open a word document I'm working on, but i go
the following error:

"The Document name or path is not valid"

I use MS Word 2002 SP3 (i.e. Office XP). I already applied all th
available updates. The document is where it should be, I can see it a
a file of the right length. It maybe open by Word 2000, but with som
parts missing.

After browsing desperately the internet I found a
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829349 this is a know issue. M
released an hotfix package for MSO.DLL that should fix the problem.

Unfortunately, one has to ask MS to obtain the hotfix, but unlik
stated, I couldn't find any sign of a valid e-mail address to contac
these people and I'm looping around through the mess of their suppor
web pages. I'm very annoyed about this, but I think I'm part of a ver
large community...

Does anyone have this hotfix? The document is due for tomorrow and I d
not have a recent backup.

The problem is part, I think, of some difficulties I have working wit
some figures and drawings in the document. The document was not ver
big (847 KB) and only 12 page long.

Thanks for any hint and help in fixing the problem

Hi P.G.,

Some MS Office hotfixes have download links in the articles.
For those that ask you to contact MS it's by phone. There
isn't a cost for obtaining a hotfix. This article lists the
'by phone' option and a link to the phone numbers.
