Offline form.

I am researching the possibility of using an InfoPath form as an offline data
entry form.
So far I have found that InfoPath must have access to a template (.xsn) file
at all times.
Is it possible to distribute .xsn files with .xml files to user's machines?

Thanks.

Ken,

The forms can be distributed in .msi installer files. Once the installer is
run once, then the user can open the form, fill it out, and submit when they
are connected.

Search the group for "Offline" and you will see lots of discussion around
this.

You don't need to use an installer to make forms available offline, nor do
you always need network access. The user only needs to connect to the
location of the form the first time they use the form. If they use the form
in the future, InfoPath checks to see if there are updates available to the
form, and if there is no connection uses the last downloaded version.

Where does InfoPath stores the "cached" version of a template? If it stores
it in IE's space is there a posibility of IE removing the template due to
the space constraints?

Thanks.

No, InfoPath maintains its own cache in the user folder. They are only
removed when the user explicitly removes them in the Fill Out a Form dialog,
or if they are full-trust forms and are uninstalled.
