Offline Master Schedules

Hello--I'm having an issue with Master Schedules. We have Master Schedules
on Project Server. When pulling a Master Schedule offline (not on Project
Server but on my local desktop), I am unable to expand any of the summary
rollup lines. I get a 'Data Source' pop-up window and it prevents the
summary lines from being expanded. Is this because the Masters are linked to
the lower level schedules? Is there a setting that I can prevent the 'Data
Source' window from appearing when viewing a master schedule out of project
server?

Thanks!

The master project is linked to the projects in the Project Server database,
thus, it will not work in offline mode. Instead, save each of the
subprojects in Offline mode and then create a temporary master project using
only those Offline projects. To do this, complete the following steps:

1. Save each of the projects in Offline mode
2. Exit Microsoft Project Professional
3. Launch Microsoft Project Professional, select your regular user account,
and click the Work Offline button
4. Open each of the Offline projects
5. Click Window - New Window
6. In the New Window dialog, select all of the projects and then click the
OK button

The preceding steps will create a temporary master project with which you
could work temporarily. I will caution you that doing so will be at your
own risk, as I cannot predict all of the potential consequences of doing so.
Hope this helps.
