Offline mode disabled following 2000->2003 upgrade...

All: After having upgraded to Outlook 2003, my system no longer has
offline viewing available <?!>. The ".ost" file is still out there, but
within the Outlook application, any attempt to go to the enabling tabs
(via the menu, or rt-clk/properties of the inbox) yields only
greyed-out or absent entries to 'Allow Offline Viewing'.

There have been no changes to the Exchange servers, no recent
extensions were added, and I've done the Detect-and-Repair scenario; no
joy throughout. As I now must be connected to a network to bring up
Outlook (otherwise it refuses), it is a source of Major Heartburn.

Any insights, appreciated!

What you might want to do is create a new mail profile that takes advantage of Outlook 2003's Cached Exchange mode. You'll need to be connected to the network for a while to populate the original .ost file, but after that, I think you'll find that you can come and go as you please on and off the network with a lot more flexibility and responsiveness than in Outlook 2000.
