.oft template will not open

I created and have been using outlook forms for a long time. However, now
the forms (.oft) that I have saved are showing up as an unrecognizable icon.
I then tried to right-click on the icon and change the program it was
associated to, which was no program. I changed it to Microsoft Outlook and
all the template does is open up in a new email. I cannot actually open up
the template... when I click on the icon it puts itself in a new email, as an
attachment. I can never open the forms again. Please help!

Tried resetting it in Control Panel-> Folder Options-> tab File Types
already?
The Open command should read;
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE" /t "%1"
For Outlook 2003 that is

Not sure what reg changes are being made, but I was able to fix this
issue by first opening the .oft through Outlook (Tools --> Forms -->
choose Form). Once you open your form, do a File --> Save As and save
the form anywhere on your PC. Then close the form without making any
further saves. You should then be able to correctly open any .oft file
in Outlook.
