I believe a new version of the MS OGA system was deployed in Feb 09.
My Office Ultimate, Word especially has been crashing on startup from about
then but I had no idea what was actually causing the problem as I got no
error messages.
I have spent countless hours trying to work out what was going on and got a
lot of good suggestions from the people in this area.
I'd suggest to anyone having problems with Word 2007 to go to Add-ins and
remove the OGAAddin to see if stops the problem. I have no idea whether this
will cause problems using the software, but it was unusable while it was
included anyway.
If anyone wants more info my email is (e-mail address removed)
Frankly going to Ubuntu and Open Office is looking a real possibility at
present,
