Okay, I give up - where are my forms?

I've been writing macros in both the Normal.dot file and in a form
named frmMacroX.frm I can see the normal.dot file is in the
Application Data\Microsoft\Templates folder. No prob there. However,
I can't seem to locate the frmMacroX.frm file. I've had the Windows
search utility to scan my entire hard drive, but to no avail.

In the VBA IDE I chose Export from the File menu to see that VBA would
have put the exported file in Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10
if I had let the command run to its end. Unfortunately, I could not
find frmMacroX.frm in the Office10 directory either.

This is confusing, especially since in regular VB 6 I could save my
forms to whatever directory pleased. Are VBA forms hidden or somehow
embedded in the normal.doc file?

I've searched the new group's archives, but didn't find anything that
could shed light on this. What am I missing here?

Embedded is the answer. The forms (and all the other modules) are saved as
part of the template, not as separate files as in VB. Exporting writes them
out to a text file of your choice.

Thanks for the info, Jezebel. I'll export them to back them up. :)

If all you want to do is have a backup copy, no need to export and then
manage two or more files. Just keep a backup copy of the template itself.
