Outlook 2000 workgroup/corporate; XP; I am not getting emails; I can send
emails; internet provider says that I have emails waiting for me to download
to my computer/OL. TheTechnician doesn't what is wrong. I disabled the
firewall virus program (bitdefender), but that didn't help. Any ideas what
might be causing this? I didn't change anything and the program has worked
great for years. Help! Thanks. Scott in Austin MN

The error message you get, if any, might be of help.

Have you checked with Charter lately. They changed their incoming server name about
2 weeks ago. Unfortunately I do not know it but in the MS Forums many have been
caught with the same surprise. Ask to speak to a Level 2 Technician when calling
Charter

I hired a technician and he got to the bottom of it. A lawyer sent me 4
files that were audio files of my client's calls to her client. Massive
files. The technician checked and discovered that my dsl was not speedy
enough. 56K? The transfer rate I was getting was .25K - less than one. So
tomorrow I contact the provider (not Charter) and see what the deal is. I
may be changing to Charter at the office (we have it here at home.) Amazing
how stressful it is to lose email. that's for the help. Scott in Austin MN

56k? 56k is Dial up speed, not DSL.

..25K? That's slower than typing speed.

Something doesn't make sense here.

The above makes no sense whatsoever. DSL is not 56 k and unless you are using a 56 k
modem which also makes no sense
