OL 2003 archiving issue

Dave

Hi Guys,

I am having problems archiving in outlook 2003. I select
the directories to archive, but it doesn't archive. I
can drag and drop the files into the archive folder, but
I need this to be done automatically.

I have created new .pst files but the only thing that is
archived is the folders, none of the emails are archived.

Any ideas?

AutoArchive works on the Modified date of the message. A manual
move/import/export changes these dates and therefor AutoArchive will not
work for you.

I have the exact same problem - folders archive but the contents do not. This
is not caused by the modification of files (surely not all files have been
modified??)

Is this a common problem in OL 2003?

Modification dates - Robert, you are correct.

Actually, looking deeper into the problem I found that in my case, majority
of emails (in all folders) have the modification date of 21/11/2004 (today is
26/11/2004). Those emails that came in after the 21st contain their
respective (later) mod. dates.

.... so can anyone tell me what is happening. What could be causing the email
mod. dates to be changing - when clearly it is not a user directly doing this?

Thanks.

Checked the modified date of the messages already? Open the message File->
Properties.

Could be lots of things. A virusscanner can change the modification date of
the message as well.

No, it doesn't explain how to fix this. I would love to know how to change
this function so it will automatically archive mail for all of my users. I
can't imagine that Microsoft would forget to add this basic feature.

I can see the same situation in my system.

All the dates were modified on the same date - I may have run a sync.pst
program.

But that still does not explain how to fix and/or run the archice against
the original sent / received date.
