OL 2003 failure to Mail merge

Ok, someone anyone out there who can help. My mail merge
function won't work properly. I'm utilizing Outlook 2003
with Office 2003 on a brand new Dell running XP operating
system. Have been trying to merge a contact list to
create labels. Nothing fancy. I run Mail Merge from
Outlook but, within the mail merge menu when I try to
retrieve a data source (since it is not doing so
automatically) I get could not find schdmapi.dll. When I
close Word 2003, I have a could not open data source
error message waiting in Outlook 2033. Have run
restore/repair, have been through the troubleshooting
program. I have reinstalled both programs with updates,
nothing.

Yep, definately running in circles on this one as this
did not help at all. I've tried that already. I've run
reinstall/ repair (both outlook and word), tried renaming
the little sucker, I've uninstalled all of office 2003
and reinstalled it from the CD to no avail. I've run all
the troubleshooting utilities that are available on
Windows XP. Not working.

No ideas then. Next time, tell us what you've tried already so neither one
of us will waste our time.

Actually, Outlook is the default mail client. While
going to Control Panel, Add/Remove programs, Set Program
access Defaults I have it set for Use my current
Microsoft e-mail program, Outlook Express has access
enabled. So I'm not sure if that has any effect or not.
And if so, I to change it.
