I recently upgraded from OL 2000 to OL 2003 and acquired a new problem. I
have a rule that copies all outgoing mail into the Sent Items folder on my
IMAP server so these messages will be available via a web client.
This worked great for OL 2000 but in OL 2003 all messages stored in the IMAP
Sent Items folder (via the outlook rule) include the winmail.dat attachment
when viewed with my web client or something other than outlook. I have OL set
to send in Plain Text, which does, but the stored message still has the
winmail.dat attachment. In addition, if the orignal message contains a real
attachment, the attachment is not accessible because it is wrapped up in the
winmail.dat file.
Every PC using Office 2003 in my shop appears to be doing the same thing. As
stated before, the problem did not occur with Office 2000.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
