OL 2007 - Find Email not working in Inbox

I can't seem to use the Type-To-Find and email in my inbox only? I can do
this in any of the other mailboxes? Not sure if it's called typ-to-find? What
I'm doing is:
I have the Inbox orderd by From
I place the cursor on an email From field
I type some lettes (smith) expecting to go to emails from smith
Nothing happens. The cursor never moves.
I do not have this probem in any other mailbox folder

Anyone have a clue?

OL2007 on Exchange 2003
